A season ago TE Visanthe Shiancoe was a go-to threat for QB Brett Favre and the Vikings offense. He had a career-high 56 catches and 11 TDs, with each of his scores coming in the red zone. This year, though, the passing attack has yet to take its true form and as a result Shiancoe [...] Missing Piece? Shiancoe Could Help Offense Return To Form

New arrival Greg Camarillo could become ol’ reliable for Minnesota Vikings

By most accounts, Greg Camarillo should be designing bridges, skyscrapers or hybrid engines with the engineering degree he earned from Stanford, not catching passes from idol Brett Favre as an undersized receiver.

pixel Grand Theft: Vikings Brett Favre Could Make $28 Million This SeasonIf you aren't sick of the Brett Favre sideshow yet, let me add a new twist.

It seems as if the rumors of the Vikings "taking care of" Favre with an improved contract if he returned are true.

NFL.com is reporting that Favre's 2010 compensation could reach million.

Here is how Favre could get to that obscene amount of money.

When Favre signed his original two-year deal, million of his million salary for 2009 was deferred to 2010. His 2010 base salary will be an additional million. Sources are reporting that the Vikings are going to add a million signing bonus to his new deal. The new deal also includes up to million in team related incentives.

If the Vikings win the Super Bowl, they will be on the hook for the entire million.

The minimum that Brett Favre will pocket this year will be million.

Percy Harvin’s Migraine Issues Could Lead to Disaster

pixel Percy Harvins Migraine Issues Could Lead to DisasterWilliam Percival Harvin, III is known for being one of the most versatile, young wide receiver's that the NFL has to offer at this point in time.

Better known as Percy Harvin, this 22-year-old stud was selected with the 22nd overall pick in the 2009 draft by the Minnesota Vikings, who were looking for a speedy wide receiver with great hands with their pick.

Off the bat, Harvin received both positive and negative criticism. He was praised for being incredible agile, dynamic and athletic. The negativity sparred from his undeniable ego that his former teammates at Florida found to be both annoying and immature.

These reasons alone aren't enough to necessarily move somebody out of the first round. But how about when you fail a drug test at the combine?

Harvin tested positive for marijuana, which led to multiple teams removing him from their draft boards completely. Without a doubt in my mind, many organization's are regretting making that decision.

In his rookie season, Harvin totaled 60 receptions for 790 yards and six touchdowns. He also took two kick-off returns to the house.

These top-notch numbers earned Harvin the Rookie Offensive Player of the Year Award, which was highly-anticipated due to the immense impact he made through the passing game, and also on special teams.

Despite being one of the best up-and-coming wide receiver's in the league, Harvin could be gone before we know it.

At a young age Harvin began suffering from extreme headaches, better known as migraines on a relatively consistent basis.

Although he was in pain from the migraines, Harvin kept on playing the game he loved with all of his heart.

He was described as a "naturally-gifted athlete" by many of his piers. They also noted that Harvin always had "boundless energy".

It's truly amazing to me that somebody that is suffering can still be as active as Harvin was and is today.

Unfortunately, he has missed dozen's of practices, and one game due to his migraines being far too serious.

On Aug. 19, Harvin collapsed on the practice field when the session was less than ten minutes old. He was immediately rushed to a local hospital, where as we stand now, he is still currently located.

Several teammates have stated that Harvin looks to be alert, and looking much better now that he has received fluids and rest. The current plan is for him to stay over-night in the hospital for precautionary reasons.

Although he's one tough son-of-a-gun, Harvin's career could be drastically shortened due to these devastating migraine issues.

When it comes to concussions, many professional athletes have to retire early in order to live a normal, healthy life.

Head and brain issues have caused the deaths of professional wrestlers Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero. I realize that steroids were involved, but one somebody takes far too many bumps, their brain suffers along with it.

Fortunately, Harvin has never received any serious concussion that I'm aware of. But one bad hit to a head that is already damaged could end his career with the snap of a finger.

Before I take it too serious, his condition is not extremely serious at this point. If he were a five-year veteran, my concern would be much higher than it is as of right now.

I've always been an extremely big fan of Harvin ever since the Vikings drafted him. He's always been a cheery person with a big smile, in my opinion.

It's clear that he will miss a fair share of games over his career from his migraine issues. Minnesota was definitely aware of this issue before they even considered taking him in the first round.

As much as I love seeing him play on Sunday's, I care much more about the man's livelihood. It would be incredibly selfish on my part if I would rather him risk further injury than to retire in order to stay healthy.

Football is a game of hard collisions, blood, and injuries, I'm aware. But there are few players, if any, that are going through the same ordeal that Harvin is.

I've continued to say my prayers about Harvin, and I encourage for those that do pray, to do so as well.

Although he may be okay today, there's truly no telling if that will be the case when he hits the field this season. The Vikings are going to need him this season, undoubtedly.
