Vikings’ Harvin Back at Practice; Team Trades for Another Receiver
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Percy Harvin was back at practice for the first time since collapsing last Thursday.
Harvin has missed a good portion of the team’s practices this summer while dealing with migraine headaches and the death of his grandmother.
Harvin, last season’s Offensive Rookie of the Year winner, grew into one of quarterback Brett Favre’s favorite targets. He was also explosive on special teams. He returned two kickoffs for touchdowns during the season and was named to the Pro Bowl as a kick returner.
Harvin left training camp on July 31st to be with his family after his grandmother had passed away. Migraine-related symptoms also caused him to miss the rest of training camp.
He returned to practice last Monday, but has been out for nearly a week after last Thursday’s episode in which he vomited on the field and was briefly unresponsive.
The Vikings added wide receiver Greg Camarillo in a trade with the Miami Dolphins earlier today. The team sent corner back Benny Sapp to Miami in order to acquire Camarillo.
Camarillo, a five year veteran, caught 105 passes for 1,165 yards over the past two seasons with only two touchdowns.

Sports Update: Minnesota Vikings wideout Percy Harvin taken to hospital after collapsing at practice
Minnesota Vikings wideout Percy Harvin was taken to a hospital in an ambulance Thursday after collapsing at practice. Vikings head coach Brad Childress said that Harvin looked up in the sky on a punt return and started to have problems. After jogging in to see team trainers, Harvin came back out to the field and had what Childress said was an episode while watching practice. Childress said Harvin, who suffers from severe migraines, seemed like he was stable before being taken to the hospital. The 5-foot-11, 184-pound Harvin missed some practices and one game last season because of migraines. He caught 60 passes for 790 yards and six touchdowns in 2009, his rookie season.
