Vikings hire Diron Reynolds as defensive line assistant coach
The Vikings have hired Diron Reynolds to assist defensive line coach Karl Dunbar. Reynolds played linebacker at Wake Forest from 1990-93, and earned his degree in communications. He was a member of the team that won the 1992 Independence Bowl. After graduation, Reynolds spent two years coaching football, basketball and track at Brooklyn-Cayce High School in Columbia, S.C. Following that, he served as a graduate assistant at Wake Forest from 1997-98, where he earned his master’s degree in liberal arts. He was promoted to outside linebackers coach for the Demon Deacons in 1999, and held that post for two years. Reynolds spent one year (2001) teaching the defensive tackles at Indiana University, where he worked under Cam Cameron, the head coach for the Hoosiers at the time. Reynolds then spent five-years as the defensive quality control coach with the Indianapolis Colts from 2002-06. Reynolds spent the 2007 season as the Miami Dolphins defensive line coach but was fired after that season as the team made wholesale changes to its coaching staff. Reynolds replaces Brendan Daly, who left the team to become the defensive line coach for the St. Louis Rams.
